Treasurer

Oversee financial matters for the bat group and be part of a dedicated committee ensuring the effective administration of the group.

The purpose of the Treasurer role is to help ensure the financial sustainability of the bat group and report to the committee at our committee meetings about the financial health of the group.

Practical Considerations

You will be expected to attend regular committee meetings which currently take place 3-4 times a year. Meetings take place at The Bat Conservation Trust office, Quadrant House, Vauxhall SE11 5RD.

Records Officer

Oversee the input, collation and management of the bat group’s bat records and be part of a dedicated committee ensuring the effective administration of the group.

The records officer is an invaluable role in raising funds for the bat group. One of the main tasks involves implementing record searches for members of the public and businesses, on average there are 2 searches a week taking 30 minutes per search. We currently use Recorder 6 software but we are willing to look into new approaches to managing our data. Other tasks include annual data exchanges with Greenspace Information for Greater London (GIGL).

We are able to offer a handover session with the current records officer.

Membership Secretary

Responsible for maintaining and administering a membership database of all bat group members and managing the renewal/withdrawal of members. We are also looking for a committed and innovative person to organise and promote various ways of increasing membership numbers. Time commitment will be quite consistent throughout the year. On average 2 1/2 hours a week, increasing in the summer and around renewal time (Dec-Jan).
